Doing aerobic work helps with anaerobic ability. Why not do some aerobic training to increase your anaerobic capacity; there are other methods, aqua jogging, bike riding, and even elliptical training. Use a heart rate monitor to make sure your targeting the aerobic zone, a nice 140-160 for 45 minutes should do the trick. Plus its a great way to "lean" up the athletes!
